Sammamish Outdoor Rooms

Sammamish Outdoor Rooms

The client had an outdated landscape that was unused. They wanted to create a series of updated outdoor spaces that would extend the amount of time they could spend outside in the Pacific Northwest. The result is a deck and patio that allow exposure to the sun with a large covered area for cooking, playing music, dining, and enjoying a warm fire – as well as an oven for cooking pizzas.

The wood burning fireplace was designed with the Lodge at Bellevue as inspiration. A series of deck and patio spaces, both open and covered, transformed this yard. Low voltage lighting throughout the structure and landscape provide a warm ambiance in the evening. The new outdoor kitchen includes a dishwasher, refrigerator, grill and sideburner with plenty of room for storage. The ironwood deck and bluestone patio are perfect for enjoying a sunny, summer day. Details including a water feature and rain chains add interest to the building and its surrounds. The pizza oven is great for making pizza, tandoori, and much more.

Project Design Elements
Before and After

The existing yard was vast, but had poor drainage and was used infrequently. The new structure is a true addition to the home for a family that enjoys spending as much time as possible outside, while the new patio and deck allow ample space for enjoying Seattle’s summer days.
