This West Seattle home had been beautifully renovated on the inside, but the exterior was in need of an update. This triangular lot posed a challenge in creating usable, functional space – particularly where the view back to the City of Seattle is spectacular.
Using porcelain pavers to create the patio and pathway spaces, this plan capitalizes on the angular nature of the site to lead the eye through the space and to provide a clear pathway to the front door, which was missing in the existing landscape. The new basalt entry column makes the home’s address easily visible, day and night.
Our clients’ love of plants allowed us to focus on a planting plan which is also the scaffold for landscape lighting, making these spaces truly magical in the evening. Every aspect of this landscape was renovated – from the permeable paver driveway to the new composite deck – each space was carefully considered to both blend in with the neighborhood and highlight the home while nestling it into the setting.
