This newly renovated home needed a new driveway and entry landscaping to match its new character. A palette of tumbled pavers, dry laid stone walls, and accessories with a European flair were used to create a space that is functional as a driveway, usable as a courtyard and welcoming as an entry.
The tiered, Italianate fountain serves to enhance the old-world feel of this courtyard. The new driveway also serves as a courtyard. Hand-stacked Montana Ledgestone walls add to the flavor of the courtyard and allowed the Japanese maple to stay in place. Existing plants, enhanced by new plantings, provide some privacy for the area. Natural stone risers, boulders and paving transition to the backyard. An Italianate water feature, outdoor lighting and repeated columns from the front entrance create a cohesive look for the courtyard. A separate pedestrian gate leads to steps down into the yard, welcoming guests into the home.
